Spiritual study group

Spiritual texts have the potential to nourish us inwardly and provide us with a new and deeper understanding that can enrich our lives. However, precisely because the ideas presented are so new to us, they can be difficult to access, and the reading can become an intellectual strain. The aim of this group is to study spiritual books in such a way that the learning process is not just intellectual, but an inner experience. Thoughts which at first seem foreign are built up by the group into vivid pictures which have meaning for us all.

The spiritual teachings we study are based on the anthropososphical way of thinking. Anthroposphy is the non-denominational movement founded by Rudlof Steiner in the last century. Its aim is for individuals to develop a consciousness of the deeper, spiritual levels of reality in all areas of life. The work of the spiritual teacher Heinz Grill follows a very similar path to that of Steiner. In this group we focus on books by these two authors.

We are currently studying the book "Theosophy" by Rudolf Steiner (ISBN 0-88010-373-6). This book builds up an understanding of human nature in its different aspects of body, soul and spirit.

Meetings  are held every other Friday from 1.00 - 2.30 pm.

There is a yoga class from 10.00-11.30 on study group days. Lunch will be provided for anyone participating in both yoga and study sessions.
